OpenTTD ist eine freie Neuimplementierung (Clone) der Engine des 1994 erschienenen Simulationsspieles Transport Tycoon Deluxe von Chris Sawyer. Im Gegensatz zu dem auf Microsoft DOS und Microsoft Windows beschränkten Original wurde OpenTTD auf zahlreiche weitere Betriebssysteme und Plattformen portiert, darunter verschiedene Unix-ähnliche Systeme (GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, BSD), OS / 2, PSP and the Palm and Windows Mobile. Even for Apple's iPhone, Symbian devices and the Nintendo DS versions are now available. Similar to TTDPatch, the original functions of the game expanded and new, such as a multiplayer mode with up to 255 participants in 15 companies added.
